Biography
Dr Duohui Jing graduated from Tsinghua University, China, and undertook PhD studies at Dresden University of Technology, Germany. In 2011, Dr Jing relocated from Germany to Australia and started his post-doctoral research on pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in Children's Cancer Institute, Australia. Now, he is leading the project on epigenetic mechanisms of glucocorticoid (chemo-drug) resistance in pediatric ALL using patient-derived xenograft model that is considered to be the most clinically relevant in vivo model. He has generated gene expression profiles and “epigenetic landscapes” of paediatric ALLs, and identified a novel epigenetic mechanism associated with glucocorticoid resistance. His recent Blood paper was the subject of an ‘Inside Blood’ commentary. Recently, Dr Jing was awarded Balnaves Foundation Young Researchers Fund 2016 and Cancer Institute NSW Early Career Fellowship 2016 – 2018. Moreover, Dr Jing is a core member of the Australian Association for Chinese Biomedical Scientists (AACBS), and aim to promote cross-cultural links between China and Australia.
